Incarceron

Incarceron is a prison so vast that it contains not only cells, but also metal forests, dilapidated cities, and vast wilderness. Finn, a seventeen-year-old prisoner, has no memory of his childhood and is sure that he came from Outside Incarceron. Very few prisoners believe that there is an Outside, however, which makes escape seems impossible. And then Finn finds a crystal key that allows him to communicate with a girl named Claudia. She claims to live Outside - she is the daughter of the Warden of Incarceron, and doomed to an arranged marriage. Finn is determined to escape the prison and Claudia believes she can help him. But they don't realize that there is more to Incarceron than meets the eye, and escape will take their greatest courage and cost more than they know. Because Incarceron is alive.

  1. This book was pretty awesome, and I loved the description of the events in the story. Throughout the whole book, you are on edge about what will happen next and I love that! There are alot of twisted events that you never see coming and they catch you off guard, but that's a good thing. I would most definitely recommend this book to any friends (:

    1. H2Hayes, you pretty much sum it up for me because I too love the description and as well as the "twisted events". But the one thing that I can't wait is the second book of the series. I hope that Catherine Fisher makes the third one fast before I finish reading the second one. Just got to love Catherine Fisher and her books.

  2. Incarceron was a delightful read due to its twists, setting, and characters. Not only does the author have a extraordinary imagination but the suspense is stellar; also the characters are built very well and the setting is just absolutely awesome from the dirty, dark, and elusive prison to the pampered, controlled, and not so person friendly outside. I would with out a doubt beg a person to read this novel just to see them enjoy the work itself.

    2. I disagree! This book didn't have me hanging on like i thought it would, and throughout the book I would get lost. To me, this book was confusing and tasteless.

    3. H1winarski I completely agree. I loved this book! I'm already aching to read the sequel! It was one of the best fantasy novels I've read in a while. The book began with an intense scene and it didn't slow down. There was a lot of great action and tension as the reader gets sucked into the world of the prison. I cheered for Finn's escape the whole way through the book. Claudia was just as wonderful as I found myself rooting for her to make new discoveries that would help Finn escape.

  3. Incarceron a futuristic prison, sealed from view, where the descendants of the original prisoners live in a dark world torn by rivalry and savagery. It is a terrifying mix of high technology, a living building which pervades the novel as an ever-watchful, ever-vengeful character, and a typical medieval torture chamber. Incarceron keeps you on the edge, wanting more, and will not let you put it down. It is sometimes hard to keep up with and is a little confusing at times.

  5. This book was definitely a page turner! Incarceron was very action packed and suspenseful. I loved how the author wrote how two different people from two different worlds, try to come together. Imagery was used very well to describe the setting. I loved how Finn flashed backed to his past, which actually connected him to the future. This book is a 5 out of 5 for me. I would recommend this book to everyone.

    1. I agrre with W3Wen but it didn't get to a page turner for me until the middle of the book because that is when the adventure started. This book actually reminds me another book I read with this same kind of story line but a lot different. It is called Prodigy and it a triology.

  6. Incarceron has everything awesome books have: action, suspense, great characters, and even a little mystery to it. When I first read this book, I thought it was very predictable and even a little stupid in the beginning, but then the story evolved into unstoppable creature that is unpredictable, untamable, and brilliant in every way possible. What makes this book even more enjoyable is it story line and plot twist. Without that it would just been a run of a mill book with an average story line and average plot twist. But one thing that stands out was the backstory of the prison and its inmates. Now that was a master piece on its own.

  7. To be honest with you, this book is amazing. There was no slow, boring beginning. There is action from the start. As I read, the story got more complex and interesting. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the multiple points of view as well. Incarceron is one of the best books I've ever read.

  9. This book was amazing, with all the plot twists. This book kept me at the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down, because of all the cliff hangers. Claudia was one of my favorite characters, because she didn't give up on finding the truth. I recommend this book to people who really like cliff hangers.

  10. I would rate this book a 3 out of 5. I liked the overall story, but parts of it were confusing. I also didn't like how the narration switched so often, but I liked how it developed two different storylines and connected them later. The characters were very likeable, and it was interesting to learn about the prison and how drastically different the two worlds are. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't get intimidated by a long-looking book.

  11. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. This book was very confusing at some points. Overall it was very interesting with lots of suspension. The author used suspension in many ways, whether it was it was something a character said,or a scene in the book. In some areas the author connects scenes to ones before which makes the reader have an idea of what is going to happen next.
